2003 through 2006: recap
If we haven't spoken recently: here's the reader's digest version!
In January 2003: we flew to Catalina Island and I proposed to Akiko. Thankfully, she said "yes." Not big fans of
long engagements, we were married in a civil ceremony on 2/28/2003. Since I had always wanted
a church wedding, (and of course, more is better!), we followed that up with a
church wedding and reception on 8/30/2003.
We bought a house and moved in at the
beginning of September, 2003. Akiko completed her Master's degree in Social Work in
June of 2003 and accepted a position with Sharp Mesa Vista hospital working with older adult
patients.
I forged into full time self employment starting
in December 2004. I was fortunate, my part time side work grew to the point I believed
it would support me. So far so good! In fact, I've had to bring on extra help.
We found out Akiko was pregnant in June of 2005.
Despite a few scary points early in the pregnancy, everything is progressing nicely and we should
meet our new daughter sometime the first week of April 2006.
