Site Enhancements

As I mentioned, I'm finally back to working on the site. It's not that I'm any less busy than before, but the need to share pictures and pregnancy/baby updates will only increase in the coming weeks! Never one to do things the hard way - I see this as a perfect time to resume my personal web work!

For those of you who've been here before, the transformation is still a work in progress. If there are pages you can't find anymore, they will likely re-appear shortly. Noteworthy among the changes are an improved photo album tool; in particular the slideshow feature has been enhanced. In addition, there is a site map you can use to help find your way around.

Off the top nav bar, you can visit pregnancy central! to read up on Akiko and Haruna's progress and see pictures of mom and baby when she arrives.

I'm still trying to talk Akiko into posting her own blog on the site, but for the moment she's pre-occupied with her pre-baby preparation tasks.

Technical Details

If you're interested in the technical details, this site is one of several projects this year designed to force me to climb the ASP.net 2.0 learning curve. Those of you who have been programmers for a while can appreciate what that feels like! Fortunately I'm making progress... :-) All the pages on this redesigned site are written in asp.net.

In addition, the majority of the content on the site is database driven: making it easier to update and add content when I want.

There's not a lot of news to report here. I've been so busy of late; I've only flown a couple of times this past year. Neal in the cockpit Nonetheless, I'm including this photo because I like to see it! :-)

I would like to pick back up with it, but I suppose Akiko and baby to be will have something to say about that! My hope is that baby Haruna likes to fly as much as her mother.

Countdown Complete!
